History
Historic Cannonsburgh Village represents approximately 100 years of early Tennessee life from the 1830s to the 1930s. Within the village are a gristmill, schoolhouse, a telephone operator's house, the University House, the Leeman House, a museum, a caboose, the Wedding Chapel, a doctor's office, a general store, a blacksmith's shop, a well, and other points of pioneering interest.
Self-guided tours are free. The Visitor Center has a variety of items for sale including postcards, t-shirts, snacks, drinks, and souvenirs.
Please call ahead before you plan your visit as the village may be closed for a private rental.
History
Stones River National Battlefield commemorates the Battle of Stones River, one of the largest and most important battles of the American Civil War. For three days in the winter of 1862 and 1863, 81,000 Union and Confederate forces clashed in a battle that would help determine the fate of a young United States.
Stones River National Battlefield also serves as a greenspace in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Trails within the park allow visitors to get closer to nature, while the Murfreesboro Greenway system connects visitors to portions of the battlefield by foot or bike.
Hours
From March 1st through October 31st, the park tour road is open to vehicles from 8 AM to 5 PM daily. Gates to the parking areas at Stones River National Cemetery, McFadden Farm (Tour Stop 6), and Redoubt Brannan are also open from 8 AM to 5 PM.
WINTER HOURS - From November 1st through the end of February, the gates listed above close at 4:30 PM. Visitor Center parking is open from 7 AM to 30-45 minutes before sunset daily. Pedestrians and bicyclists may use park roads and trails from sunrise to sunset.

In the heart of Murfreesboro, TN sits a historical gem of a mansion, built in the early 1800s, a plantation home (Maney Family home) later embroiled in the Civil War, and after years of neglect is now restored to its former beauty. Great place to step back in time. Interesting and educational.

Self-guided tours are available by reservation, Tuesday-Friday 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m.

Enjoy nature hikes, walking, running, bicycling, or in-line skating along the 12 miles of riverside trails which consist of the Stones River, Lytle Creek, and Gateway trails. Small watercraft access points are also available for paddlers to enjoy the Stones River. The Murfreesboro Greenway System connects historical sites, parks, neighborhoods, and businesses; it also serves as a conservation corridor to preserve precious natural and cultural resources. Eleven trailheads provide access to the Murfreesboro Greenway
